About Shattered Shadowrealms

This world takes all the myths and legends and adjusts them to be real. First lets talk about what a shadowrealm is. A shadowrealm is a pocket dimension. They vary in types and there are a huge number of them. Famous shadowrealms would be Mt. Olympus, Asgard, Arcadia, Avalon and many others. The entryways to them are geographically fixed locations, this is why certain areas have certain gods or creatures in myths. A shadowrealm can have many entryways and the entryway can vary in size. Some have entryways so large that you might think 2 or more shadowrealms are the same one. Some have so many entryways that it can be confusing. At first there was no shadowrealms and it was just earth and everyone lived in the great city of Atlantis. The fall of Atlantis was mysterious and Aeons do not know why it happen, but it disrupted some of the universe. This disruption made the shadowrealms and changed a number of Aeons in all sorts of ways.

Next lets talk about the so called 'gods' of myth. In this game world they do have endless lifespans, but can die by other means like we can. This world calls them Aeons. Aeons do have a lot of magical power, but are very limited in it's use. They normally stay in their respective shadowrealms, but come to earth on occasion. The eldest and most powerful of the Aeons are called Titans and are never seen, but on extremely rare occasions, these are the more "supreme" type of gods.

There creatures of myth like vampires, werewolves, Valkyries, and other such beings are grouped together and called Juxteons. The reason they are grouped is because they are the children of the Aeons after the fall of Atlantis. Abilities and lifespans vary from juxteon to juxteon.

Humans have been around since the time of Atlantis. Humans have magic ability with far less power than Aeons, but no restrictions on what they can do with their magic (besides the natural restrictions). Over time humans stopped using magic and forgot it actually existed. They began worshiping the Aeons and making stories and tales. Now magic is dormant in our genes. Aeons figured out, through their own science, a way to re-activate those dormant genes and magically give immortal lifespans to a single human at a time.

Every magic user has an aura. This brightens and dims based on how much power you are using and have left. It has a color and scent, which is personal and different from person to person.
